Lauren Dietz, Miranda Phelps, and Jessica Phillips were all members of the Corpus Christi Blaze club soccer team. On May 29, 2007 Lauren Dietz and Miranda Phelps were lost in a tragic car accident. Two years later, on June 8, 2009 Jessica Phillips was involved in another fatal accident. The CCSC Blaze was more than a club soccer team, it was a family. Losing Lauren, Miranda, and Jessica, was losing part of that family. This 5k event is now held in their honor and memory so that our family is never forgotten.
